Someone to do your dirty work...

I actually don't understand why conservatives are so upset about President Obama because I think he's doing a great job, escalating troops in Afghanistan, half-assing healthcare, hedging on torture, kissing the asses of corporate lobbyists-- you know, business as usual. What's not to like?

True, he could screw things up far worse, far more quickly-- we were making such excellent progress with Bush for the eight years. Yes, sad to say, we have lost some momentum, but not much except by way of rhetoric. Teabaggers, oh ye of little faith!

But I suppose some people think a bit more political instability will help, right?

Poisoning political discourse is a sure way to do that, and sooner or later someone will be more than willing to be The Chosen One. "Allah akbar" or "Praise Jesus"-- what difference does it make?

Religion, or certainly religious rhetoric, has always been a great motivation for murder.





Of course this is nothing new in US American politics, which has a disproportionate share of paranoid schmucks:

Do not fear, teabaggers! If Republicans don't destroy the US, the Democrats will-- they just aren't as quick, as blatant, or as efficient. In due time, in due time...

Embrace the gloom

Of course, this is because it will get exponentially worse-- the curve just happens to be steeper than what scientists have tried to predict.

While there are some progressive (i.e. evil fascist/socialist/communist/unamerkun) countries that are actually acting on alternative energy sources (like Denmark) we can rest assured that corporate greed and willful ignorance will set the tone, as it always has done in righteous, godly and capitalist countries. Stand proud, guys!

We can't let the end of the world interfere with the status quo, right? Now, get back in your Hummer and move along...
